Cardano pushes forward with steady growth and major updates

The Cardano blockchain is continuing to show steady advancement. InputOutput’s latest report points to growing user and developer activity. There are now 1,997 projects in the works on Cardano. Delegated wallets are up to 1.33 million. That’s real user interest.

According to the report, the network hit 108.98 million transactions, up 0.23%. Asset creation grew too. Over 10.78 million native tokens now exist under 213,259 policies. Smart contract development continues to rise. Plutus scripts reached 131,917. Aiken scripts climbed to 6,507.

Governance is also improving. There are 1,282 DReps in Cardano. Of those, there are 954 that are actually participating. That’s a 1.66% increase. There were 259 GitHub commits by developers during the week, indicating continued improvements.

Cardano node, wallet, and contract upgrades show technical focus

The consensus team rolled out a new model for easier bug tracking. They improved the db-immutalizer tool and joined Cardano Foundation’s Antithesis initiative. Node version 10.4.1 went live. It features the UTXO-HD backend. Early benchmarks show less CPU use and stable memory levels.

Lace, Cardano’s wallet, took a big step. Version 1.22 is out now. It works with Firefox and brings beta-level Bitcoin support. Users can expect a faster and smoother Web3 experience.

Smart contract upgrades also landed. The team added strictness analysis. That improves speed and cuts script size. They finalized the drop list specification for the next hard fork. New work on Boolean casing and costing is close to being done. Certified compilation testing also improved.

Hydra got a major upgrade with version 0.21. Focus now shifts to the Glacier Drop and fixing bugs in the incremental-commit system. Mithril’s new pre-release (2517.0-pre) supports node v.10.3.1 and database snapshot signing. It also adds bug fixes and tools for better database certification.

The team behind Mithril also simplified commands and added a new way to publish signatures. Work continues speeding up Rust compilation and refining crypto libraries.
