Bitmain has introduced its newest mining hardware, the Antminer S23 Hydro, at the World Digital Mining Summit 2025. This machine offers a powerful 580 terahashes per second output with an energy consumption of 5,510 watts.

It achieves an energy efficiency ratio of 9.5 joules per terahash, which sets a new benchmark in the industry. The S23 Hydro is directed at large-scale mining complexes requiring power-intensive machines with lower power consumption.

The S23 Hydro uses hydro-cooling technology to ensure thermal balance during extended periods of concentrated high-intensity mining. The move is an attempt by Bitmain to stay ahead in a market hit by declining bitcoin prices and diminishing hardware sales.

Bitmain’s head of mining, Irene Gao, outlined the company’s market strategy during her address at the summit Tuesday.

She spoke of new flexible payment terms, including 40%, 30%, and 30% installment options for customers to relieve financial burdens. Customers can also collateralize bitcoin for as long as six months to reserve their orders of mining equipment.

Bitmain plans shipments starting early 2026

Due to decreased demand, large mining companies such as CleanSpark, Hut 8, and HIVE have made advantageous purchase deals in recent times.

The companies took advantage of declining hardware prices as well as enhanced negotiating leverage in a weakened hardware market. Bitmain is looking to continue robust sales numbers by adapting to this new buyer-friendly environment.

The company also revealed a special offer for early customers, pricing the new Antminer units at $30 per terahash. Additional promotional discounts could reduce that figure to as low as $25.5 per terahash.

Bitmain confirmed that the first shipments of the Antminer S23 Hydro are scheduled for the first quarter of 2026. The launch marks a key step in Bitmain’s ongoing push to meet evolving miner demands and industry challenges.
