Blockchain company Moca Foundation has launched Moca Chain, a new layer-1 blockchain designed to protect user privacy and secure identity and data authentication.
According to the Wednesday announcement, the network aims to support the development of identity systems that let individuals, devices, and AI securely manage and verify their own credentials without depending on centralized providers.
The testnet will launch in the third quarter of 2025, with the mainnet expected to go live in the fourth quarter, according to the foundation.
Moca Chain enables cross-chain identity verification
The foundation stated that Moca Chain enables apps on any blockchain to verify both on-chain and off-chain user data. Additionally, it utilizes the MOCA token for transaction fees, validator staking, data storage, oracle services, and fees for data generation and verification.

This would make use of the ecosystem’s decentralized data storage, cross-chain identity verification, and web data generation powered by zero-knowledge TLS and on-chain verification.
The blockchain is compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM). Further, it facilitates interoperability with Ethereum and other similar networks.
Moca Chain tackles SSO’s security flaws
Co-founder and executive chairman of crypto venture firm and Moca Foundation launch partner Animoca Brands, Yat Siu, said that billions of people use single sign-on (SSO) to access various services.
Siu explained that SSO works like a master key to a person’s data, services, and digital life. However, he noted that “SSO creates a single point of failure that compromises security.” He added:
Moca Chain seeks to solve this problem by giving users decentralized true ownership of their data, ensuring the sovereignty of users’ digital identity without a single point of failure.
Moca Network’s identity management software development kit, AIR Kit, has already been integrated with various partners, including companies in Animoca Brands’ portfolio, along with its affiliates. This reportedly gives it access to over 700 million potential users.
