U.S. presidential candidate Donald Trump unveiled crypto-supportive plans at the 2024 Bitcoin conference in Nashville on Satureday. Trump said he would remove the U.S. SEC chair, Gary Gensler, if he wins the upcoming election cycle and appoint a new head who implements welcoming policies for tech growth in America.
In 2019, he called Bitcoin something in thin air and criticized digital assets due to their high volatility. But now, he is proud to be the first politician to accept donations for his political campaigns in crypto.
In his speech, Trump denounced the current SEC chair’s aggressive approach to Bitcoin and targeted Kamala Harris and Biden over their unfriendly approach to digital assets. He named them ‘anti-crypto crusaders’ for supporting Gensler’s crypto stance and underscored his vision to keep cryptocurrency free from Governmental overreach. Trump asserted;
I’d appoint a new SEC Chairman who believes in building America and not blocking the future.

Moreover, unlike U.S. agencies selling BTCs, the Presidential candidate vowed to create a national Bitcoin stockpile. He continued expressing his intentions to hold 100% of the BTC the government has or confiscates in the future via legal crackdowns.
Trump further uncovered his plans to make the U.S. a Bitcoin mining powerhouse. By allowing U.S. miners to conduct mining operations in their residences instead of moving to China due to imposed restrictions, this initiative supports the former U.S. president’s goals to make America the “crypto capital of the planet” and “Bitcoin powerhouse.”
In his address, Trump predicted that the Bitcoin market cap would exceed gold in the near future. Highlighting the possibility of becoming President, he advised the U.S. Bitcoin community never to sell their Bitcoin and capitalize on his crypto-friendly stance. To ensure supportive regulations in the state, Trump additionally expressed his vision to establish a forward-thinking committee dedicated to the crypto industry.
He noted;
Crypto is going to the moon. I want America to lead the way.
