DOGS, a memecoin on The Open Network (TON) has recently published a Roadmap plan which covers the first half of 2025. To strengthen the community, DOGS has decided to launch its mascot at major events and provide distinctive opportunities for token holders. By including games, charitable causes, and token usage, it wants to disrupt the meme coin sector’s perception of having no intrinsic value.
DOGS has reached very significant goals, with 4.5 million unique holders, the most for any meme token. The token airdrop event that happened in August 2024 got 53 million participants via the DOGS Telegram Mini App. From these, 42.2 million users were eligible for the airdrop, making it the largest event in history.
Nevertheless, the high level of activity was an issue of scalability for TON. During the test, TON suffered outages every 36 hours, stopping the block’s production for 12 hours in total. These disruptions underscored the requirement for top-of-the-line scalability measures to cater to DOGS’s increasing user base.
