Memecoin platform Pump.fun reopens live streams to 5%

The Solana-based memecoin launchpad Pump.fun brought back its live streaming service, which had been dormant for five months. The platform stopped live streaming in November 2024 after users distributed a high volume of violent and explicit content. Due to overwhelming usage, the initial moderation tools failed to manage the activity levels, so the platform experienced an immediate shutdown.

The platform has reintroduced the feature, but only for a small group of approximately five percent of all users. The restricted launch enables Pump.fun to test their refined moderation systems, thus ensuring safety for users while rebuilding trust among customers.

New moderation policies to ensure safe content

Since encountering past problems Pump.fun implemented stronger content rules. Any content relating to violence, along with explicit material and harmful behaviors, is now banned under the updated policies. Stream moderators possess upgraded tools to stop inappropriate broadcasts and suspend rule-breaking platform users.

According to Pump.fun co-founder Alon Cohen the team worked on developing moderation system enhancements throughout the suspension period. The updated method brings both clarity and accountability, which establishes security for all platform participants.

Strategic livestreaming relaunch amid market uncertainty

The return of live streaming features becomes crucial for Pump.fun’s operations because the memecoin market demonstrates increasing unpredictability. Sales busts led to the complete collapse of Libra and Melania Meme, alongside others. Since early 2025, the Trump token suffered a devastating loss that reduced its value to less than ten percent of its original worth.

Dune Analytics statistics show that just 1% out of all memecoins created in March 2025 managed to surpass graduation requirements. The memecoin sector faces widespread doubt from investors. Pump.fun maintains positive expectations about the return of the live-streaming feature to revive market engagement and user involvement. With this new feature, memecoin production potential increases alongside the establishment of standard monitoring rules within the memecoin ecosystem.
