Ondo Finance introduced the Ondo Network, a new execution layer designed for digital financial markets. The company described the launch as another step in the development of Ondo Chain while shifting its focus beyond issuing tokenized assets. The network combines private, high-speed trade execution with blockchain-based verification while keeping user assets under self-custody.
According to an announcement released on July 27, 2026, Ondo Network keeps trade execution separate from settlement rather than processing every function within a traditional blockchain. The company said traditional blockchain designs combine execution, verification, consensus, and settlement into a single system, creating delays that affect institutional trading performance.
The network relies on enclaves to deliver secure, rapid execution, independent attestors to verify transactions, and public blockchains for asset settlement. The company explained that the architecture was created as a general-purpose financial infrastructure instead of serving only one trading product, allowing multiple market types to operate on a shared system.
Ondo Redesigns Blockchain Architecture for Faster Finance
Ondo said engineers initially planned to build a conventional blockchain through Ondo Chain. During the development of Ondo Perps, engineering teams concluded that execution speed posed a bigger challenge than settlement. The company then redesigned its infrastructure by separating trade execution from settlement to reduce trading delays.
Ondo’s architecture can support cash-based trading, tokenized investment products, borrowing and credit services, along with other financial applications, alongside perpetual futures trading. The company stated that the design focuses on execution speed, transaction privacy, and verifiable correctness while keeping applications non-custodial for users.
According to De Bode, the Ondo network introduces a new architectural model designed to provide privacy, fast transaction execution, self-custody, verifiable fairness, and open access without permission requirements. At present, asset transfers are settled through Ethereum, with plans to expand support to additional public blockchains in the future.
Ondo Network Expands Tokenized Trading and Settlement Features
Ondo Perps has become the first live application launched on Ondo Network. The platform provides round-the-clock trading for stock and commodity perpetual contracts while allowing users to use tokenized real-world assets as collateral. The network supports various other financial products without requiring separate infrastructure.
Settlement can occur through fiat currency or compatible stablecoins, including direct transfers across blockchain addresses. Ondo further clarified that the launch of Ondo Network does not alter the function of the ONDO token, which remains the governance and incentive asset throughout its real-world asset ecosystem.
The company added that future upgrades may expand decentralized attestor participation, introduce proof-of-stake security, enable on-chain state settlement, provide stronger cryptographic proofs, support selective privacy features, and create new staking roles as development continues.
Oasis Pro Supports Regulated Asset Access
Under the structure outlined by Ondo, registered transfer agent Oasis Pro mints tokenized securities on Ethereum, while regulated custodians maintain the corresponding underlying shares. Ondo designed this framework to connect tokenized assets with regulated capital markets while complying with existing custody requirements.
Following new regulatory authorizations, Oasis Pro Markets can provide U.S. investors access to NMS equities, exchange-traded funds, investment funds, market index funds, and initial public offerings. These approvals enhance regulated market access while supporting Ondo’s broader financial infrastructure.
