Ripple revealed fresh investments on August 3, 2026, in British companies ZILO and Licuido to strengthen the institutional financial infrastructure built around XRPL. Investment values were not made public. Both companies provide regulated services for transfer agency, fund administration, asset issuance, and collateral movement after tokenized assets enter the market.
Investments came shortly after Aviva Investors launched a tokenized share class of its US Dollar Liquidity Fund on the XRP Ledger. Ripple described the development as another step toward wider institutional adoption of tokenized financial products built on blockchain infrastructure.
Ripple expects both firms to strengthen services available to financial institutions using XRPL. The focus extends beyond placing assets onchain, covering ownership management, distribution, settlement, and the later use of tokenized assets in financing activities.
ZILO and Licuido Add Regulated Financial Services
ZILO provides transfer agency services along with fund administration tools for asset managers, custodians, and transfer agents. The platform supports tokenized share classes, allowing investment funds to maintain investor records, process subscriptions and redemptions, and manage ownership changes after fund units are issued onchain.
Licuido operates under the regulation of the UK Financial Conduct Authority and focuses on issuing tokenized versions of traditional financial assets for distribution. The platform also supports collateral processes using atomic settlement, allowing linked transactions to either complete together or fail together within a single process.
Together, both companies add regulated operational services needed after assets enter blockchain networks. Administration, issuance, distribution, and collateral use now become part of Ripple’s broader institutional infrastructure built around the XRP Ledger.
RLUSD Planned for Tokenized Fund Settlement
Ripple plans to use RLUSD as settlement cash for delivery-versus-payment transactions. Under such a process, payment and ownership transfer occur together on XRPL instead of passing through separate systems at different times. Such an approach could also allow tokenized funds to serve as collateral from issuance onward.
According to Ripple, XRPL has processed more than four billion transactions since 2012. The network also supports over seven million active wallets and operates through 120 independent validators. Figures reflect overall ledger activity rather than institutional tokenized fund usage.
Ripple acknowledged that participating companies have not released transaction volumes, identified new clients, or demonstrated large-scale commercial use of their combined services. Ripple executive Nigel Khakoo described investment management as a “substantial opportunity” over the next decade.
