Western Union rolled out Stablecard in partnership with Rain on August 4, 2026, bringing its USDPT stablecoin into daily payments through a Visa card and digital wallet. Built on the Solana blockchain, the product allows users to hold and spend USDPT across 37 launch markets, with access to more than 175 million Visa merchant locations worldwide.

Stablecard allows eligible customers to receive Western Union remittances directly into a digital wallet as USDPT instead of cash. Users can also transfer USDPT from supported crypto wallets or exchanges before making purchases through Visa merchants or withdrawing cash from ATMs, depending on local availability and requirements.

Rain supplies the wallet, mobile application, and payment card infrastructure behind Stablecard. Anchorage Digital Bank issues USDPT on Solana, while Payment Token supports payment services connected to the product. Western Union introduced the service as another step toward expanding stablecoin use for everyday payments instead of limiting digital assets to transfers alone.

Stablecard Connects USDPT With Visa Payments

Western Union describes Stablecard as a payment option that lets customers receive money, hold value in USDPT, and spend directly through Visa without first transferring funds to a traditional bank account. Virtual cards can also be added to Apple Pay and Google Pay for mobile payments.

USDPT remains redeemable at a one-to-one rate for U.S. dollars. Customers can fund Stablecard through eligible Western Union transfers using the Cash Redirect feature or by transferring USDPT from compatible wallets and exchanges. Users must complete identity verification before using the service, while no credit check or minimum balance is required.

Users can also withdraw funds through participating Western Union locations or supported ATMs. Store listings note that ATM charges, foreign exchange costs, and other service fees may apply. According to application disclosures, Nimbus LLC, operating under the business name Third National, issues the card.

Bybit Adds Western Union USDPT in Latin America

Bybit now offers Western Union’s USDPT stablecoin through its fiat payment channels across Latin America. Eligible users in supported markets can access USDPT through Bybit’s payment infrastructure, making transfers between traditional currencies and digital assets more accessible.

Western Union expanded USDPT availability through Bybit as part of its broader stablecoin payment plans. Integration with Bybit’s platform gives users across Latin America another way to access digital dollar payments while supporting cross-border financial services.

Latin America marks the first phase of Western Union’s wider international expansion for USDPT. The company said it has a clear path to extend stablecoin availability into additional regions through exchange partnerships and broader payment channel support.
